Rachel Tan is a Sony Alpha Photographer and Creative Director based in Singapore, specialising in food, interiors, product and travel. Throughout her education in Psychology, and work in Marketing, Branding and Public Relations, Rachel dabbled in photography as a hobby, then for work in the marketing and social media space.

 

As new and exciting opportunities began to unfold, she quickly realised that her hobby had become part of her livelihood. Rachel now works with a variety of brands, primarily in the food and beverage, and hospitality industry. These include restaurants like Cloudstreet (      ), Nouri (   ), Kotuwa (Michelin Bib Gourmand List 2021 - 2023, 2025), Esquina (Michelin Selected); and hotels like The Singapore EDITION, Mandarin Oriental Singapore and more.

 

Her works have been used in publications like The Business Times, Singapore Tatler, The PEAK, FOUR Magazine, The Cultured Traveller, Men's Folio, and TimeOut among others. She has also made a guest appearance as a photography and marketing consultant on Channel News Asia's On The Red Dot: Dish Upon A Star. In addition, Rachel leads photography workshops and talks, sharing her creative process with anyone who wants to see the world through a different lens — from students and hobbyists to brand teams and fellow photographers.

A storyteller at heart, Rachel draws much of her inspiration from the beautiful architecture, nature spots, burgeoning food and beverage scene, as well as the interesting people she meets in Singapore and during her travels. She is passionate about creating unique perspectives and telling stories through her lens as she continues to seek the extraordinary in the ordinary.​

 

When she is not behind the camera, you can find her spending time with her little boy and enjoying the pleasures (and pains) of parenthood.
